A Rooftop Ceremony in Bloom: Yeyoung & Joseph’s Joyful San Jose Wedding
Some love stories arrive like a quiet whisper. Easy, natural, and sure. For Yeyoung and Joseph, it began with a coffee shop and a first date that felt like coming home. A few conversations turned into countless shared moments. Within six months, they were engaged. One year from the day they met, they were married.
Their wedding took place on the rooftop of Blanco Urban Venue in San Jose. It was a light-filled celebration full of softness and emotion. Guests gathered beneath a canopy of white fabric and string lights as Yeyoung and Joseph exchanged vows in front of a simple fireplace surrounded by florals in full bloom. The atmosphere was intimate and timeless, full of heart and gentle beauty.
Yeyoung grew up in Korea before moving to Louisiana for school, then made her way west to California in search of something more. Joseph, a Bay Area native, met her right where she was. Together, they built a love rooted in calm joy and shared rhythms. They spend their time watching K-dramas, learning tennis, traveling together, and doting on their three cats—Milly, Evie, and Bluey.
They wanted their wedding to feel like a true celebration of their relationship. No stress. No excess. Just warmth, romance, and intentional design. Their floral palette reflected that spirit. Inspired by wildflowers and soft lavender fields, we created arrangements using:
Soft purple roses
Lavender sweetpea
White-to-purple anemone
White ranunculus
Light purple lisianthus
Light purple scabiosa
Lavender campanella and stock
Cream carnations for softness and depth
We styled the florals to feel organic, almost like they had grown into the space. Bud vases lined the tables with delicate stems in varied heights, giving each bloom its own moment to shine.
From the rooftop ceremony to cocktail hour on the veranda, the entire day moved with ease. There were joyful tears, deep belly laughs, and a kiss at the altar as golden sunlight poured through the city skyline.
This wedding was never about grand statements. It was about love. Real, everyday, enduring love. The kind that starts with a coffee date and blooms into a lifetime of quiet beauty.
